Jackie Robinson: a great ball player

  On April, 18,1946 thirty thousand fans went to Roosevelt Stadium in New Jersey.Fans wanted to witness a historic event. The first time in organized ball a black man would be taking the field in a game. Twenty seven year old Jackie Robinson , the second baseman for the Royals. Jackie Roosevelt Robinson, was born in Cairo, Georgia. At 5 years old the family moved to Pasadena, California. Robinson, was the target of racist threats and hate mail. Robinson,died of a heart attack in 1972.
